GLENFIDDICH PARTNERS WITH WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA

14272 GF 15 YO WW Tround MockOn June, 2013 Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch announced that $2.00 from every bottle sold of Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Whisky in Canada would be donated to benefit Canadian Forces Members as part of their continued support for Wounded Warriors Canada. In honour of the ongoing partnership, Glenfiddich has changed its regular packaging throughout 2013 and beyond in recognition of the donation program to help raise awareness and funds for Wounded Warriors Canada.

Founded in 2006, Wounded Warriors Canada is a non-profit organization that helps Canadian Forces Members (be they full-time members or reservists) who have been wounded or injured in their service to Canada.

Glenfiddich’s fundraising efforts for the organization began in October 2012 with a record-breaking charity auction of an ultra-rare bottle of Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve 55 Year Old Whisky. The ultra-rare Glenfiddich Scotch set the record as the most expensive bottle of whisky sold at auction in Canada, selling for a record-breaking $52,000 CAD. The Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve 55 Year Old has since earned international acclaim as one of the rarest and most expensive single malt Scotches in the world. In September 2012, Glenfiddich donated all proceeds from the auction of the rare 55 Year Old Whisky to Wounded Warriors Canada.

Continuing with these efforts, as of January 2013, all funds raised by the two dollar bottle donation on every bottle of Glenfiddich 15-year-old Solera sold across Canada will be celebrated annually with a donation presented each November.

This extended partnership is built upon the shared commitment to family and the value of a pioneering spirit. Glenfiddich and Wounded Warriors are both pioneers in their fields. Glenfiddich remains family owned and operated for over 125 years, and helped to pioneer the development of the Single Malt Scotch Whisky business around the world. Wounded Warriors is dedicated to helping Canadian Forces Members and their families in need through their ongoing and ground-breaking support programs. According to Beth-Anne Thomas, National Brand Manager, Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch,

“Wounded Warriors Canada are true pioneers in providing programs, services and solutions for our returning Canadian Forces members and their families in need. As a family owned and operated distillery, Glenfiddich is inspired by their ongoing efforts and the pioneering spirit that makes Wounded Warriors a leader in their field.”

Captain Wayne Johnston, Founder of Wounded Warriors Canada commented,

“We are honoured to further our partnership with Glenfiddich – a relationship built on the ethos of families helping families. The donation from the sale of each bottle of Glenfiddich 15 Year Old will allow us to continue to fund our innovative projects and programs that serve our Canadian Forces members in need.”

ABOUT WOUNDED WARRIORS CANADA

Wounded Warriors Canada was founded in 2006 by Captain Wayne Johnston, a distinguished serviceman with four decades of service within the Canadian Forces and is most widely known as the Repatriation Officer for the fallen in Afghanistan. Through a wide range or programs and services, Wounded Warriors helps find solutions where gaps have left Canadian Forces Members, be they full-time members or reservists,  in need.

With the majority of Canada’s troops having returned from Afghanistan, their primary focus has shifted from physical injury support, to mental  health as a result of the staggering impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, perpetrated by Operational Stress Injuries. Overall, however, their mandate is to help any injured Veteran in need as they transition to civilian life.

Wounded Warriors Canada operates as a not-for-profit corporation generating their funding exclusively as a result of the donations made by Canadians and the incredible partnerships forged with the business community, from coast-to-coast-to-coast. They work diligently to ensure the hard-earned funds of their donors are allocated to best make a difference in the lives of Canada’s ill and injured soldiers and their families.
