Free Spirit

A Quintessential Rum Cocktail is the Cuba Libra. If Bourbon is used instead of rum it can be called a Buckeroo.   In Canada, when Crown Royal Whisky is used it is usually called, Crown and Coke, for other Canadian whiskies we just call it Rye and Coke.

I decided, when I used this drink a suggested cocktail for my review of White Owl Whisky that I should give the drink a proper name. So I call it, The Free Spirit.

The Free Spirit

1 1/2 oz. Canadian Whisky
2 to 4 oz Coca Cola
Lime slice
2 – 3 Large Ice Cubes

Build the The Free Spirit over ice in a rocks or highball glass
Rub the lime over the edge of the glass
(optional) Drop a lime slice in and stir

And remember, the aim of my blog is to help you drink better spirits, not more spirits!
